LGBTQ+ Wedding Photographer Manchester
I have been working as a wedding photographer in Manchester for
around 15 years and one of my main passions is shooting LGBTQ+
wedding photography.
I consider myself an experienced LGBTQ+ wedding photographer in
Manchester as I have photographed gay, lesbian and trans gender
weddings.
Professional Photography In Manchester
Manchester has such an amazing, vibrant LGBTQ+ community and for
me it is so very important to be able to represent gay, lesbian,
trans and non-binary couples with my wedding photography. I pride
myself in specialising in LGBTQ+ wedding photography and love
showing all expressions of love however they come.
With Manchester Pride a yearly occurrence and the Gay Village
being one of the most thriving spots in Manchester you would
assume that Manchester is forward thinking when it comes to
representing the LGBTQ+ community.
I think in many areas Manchester is forward thinking but some
parts of the wedding industry may be a bit farther behind. I have
come across venues that may only refer to bridal prep room or only
have literature that refers to the bride and groom.
With my wedding photography I like to ensure that my LGBTQ+
couples are represented well within the industry. I recently had a
stand at the Gay wedding fair, making sure I met lots of lovely
gay and lesbian couples who were planning on getting married.
I always want to show and represent love between everyone… Love is
love and I celebrate love in all its forms. When I hear that
couples come across prejudice within the wedding industry it
upsets me so much.
Why should certain couples feel segregated or unable to express
their love towards one another because they don’t fall into a
traditional bride and groom package.
I have photographed the weddings of trans, gay and lesbian couples
and each one is so important to me as it makes me realise how far
we have come since gay weddings were finally legalised.
Contact Me Today
I feel really passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community
with my wedding photography and am here for your wedding or
celebration of love, however you choose to express it.
From intimate elopement weddings to big elaborate weddings I have
experienced photographing them all and I am confident I can
creatively tell your love story with compassion, honesty and
feeling.
Some of my favourite weddings are elopement and intimate weddings,
and often LGBTQ+ couples fall into these categories. I
photographed the wedding of Cloud and Quin, a wonderful trans
gender couple at the registry office in Manchester and then we
explored the streets of Manchester, taking photos in some of my
favourite locations in the city.
Richard and Anles’ wedding was a small elopement in the Peak
District where we photographed their love in an intimate country
location surrounded by fields, sheep and rolling hills. This was a
great example of my LGBTQ+ wedding photography Manchester.
As a Manchester LGBTQ+ wedding photographer I pride myself in
representing all members of the wonderful LGBTQ+ community.
My last LGBTQ+ wedding was the wonderful wedding of Stephen and
David. Stephen has Cerebral Palsy and watching him and David show
their love and get married was one of the most emotional weddings
I have ever photographed.
Get In Contact
Martha and Luci were a stunning lesbian couple who I photographed
on a workshop. Their love for one another was such a joy to
behold.
They were so intimate with each other and each touch and lingering
kiss was just such a pleasure to photograph. Theirs is such a
wonderful love story and it was a real privilege to photograph
their love story.
Not all photographers feel comfortable posing and working with
LGBTQ+ couples but for me I just love working with couples in the
LGBTQ+ community. Photographing all kinds of couples is what keeps
my wedding photography different and exciting.
I love the diversity and vibrancy of photographing LGBTQ+
weddings. Everyone is often so free and flamboyant and ready to
party and have a great time. It is crazy to think that less than
10 years ago LGBTQ_ weddings were not legal in this country and
now thank goodness all couples are able to marry and express their
love towards each other.
We just need to make sure that in the wedding industry we are
progressive and forward thinking and make sure all of our
traditional ‘bride and groom’ thinking doesn’t apply anymore. We
need to re-evaluate the way we talk to our couples and make sure
that all the language we use doesn’t relate to ‘brides and grooms’
but can relate to every couple.
I hope that I can continue to photograph LGBTQ+ weddings in
Manchester for years to come. LGBTQ+ wedding photography is truly
one of my favourite parts of my business and I hope to continue
photographing the weddings of all these truly wonderful and
amazing couples for years to come.
