LGBTQ+ Wedding Photographer Liverpool

The LGBTQ+ community in Liverpool, England is one of the largest in the United Kingdom. As a wedding photographer that specialises in LGBTQ weddings Liverpool is one of my favourite places to photograph weddings. This year I had the pleasure of going to the Eurovision song contest which was hosted in Liverpool and saw a significant number of international queer tourists visit the city. Being able to photograph the amazing sites and enjoy the singing competition was one of the highlights of my year.

Professional Photography In Liverpool

In 2024 I have some amazing LGBTQ+ weddings booked in my diary. One of these is a gay wedding at Knowsley Hall. This is an amazing stately home in Liverpool, set in over 2.500 acres of parkland, this is one of the most prestigious stately homes to have your wedding in the North West and I am so excited to be able to photograph a wonderful couple there next year.

Making sure your wedding day goes smoothly is such an important thing to consider when planning your wedding and ensuring your photographer is completely comfortable shooting LGBTQ+ weddings is one of the factors you may need to consider. I have had a lot of experience photographing gay, lesbian and trans wedding so no matter how you identify I am confident that I will help you achieve the wedding photos that will do your day justice.

At a recent wedding I photographed the theme was purple, the guests from the queer community really went all out. They were wearing head to toe purple and some of the guests even dyed their hair purple. The couple said that it’s a testament to the queer community. They really invest and go all out. Those are my kind of people, the ones that fully invest. The ones that want to support their friends and make the wedding an amazing event. While photographing this wedding the guests from the queer community were the ones having all the fun and enjoying themselves to the max.

Liverpool has some wonderful architecture and so many incredible venues for you to choose from when looking at wedding venues for your LGBTQ+ wedding. A wander around the city gives a glimpse into Liverpool’s culture. It’s famed for music and its eclectic people who are all so friendly. There is some wonderful history by the Docks which have some fantastic industrial wedding venues. One of these is Camp and Furnace, a really cool venue that hosts music events but also can be used for weddings. A couple of years ago I photographed a wedding there and loved shooting the exposed brick walls and huge warehouse ceilings.

As a lot of my friends are from the queer community one of my favourite nights out is at a bar in the Gay Quarter of Liverpool. I love nothing more than letting my hair done and dancing to some cheesy music with the fun loving people of the queer community. I actually have more LGBTQ+ weddings booked in for 2024 than heterosexual weddings which is so exciting for me. I know that every queer wedding is going to bring all the fun, laughter and love that a straight wedding brings and more.

There is one wedding venue that stands out for me in Liverpool. St George’s Hall is a splendid building with grand steps and pillars leading up to the front of it. You can get married in the breathtakingly beautiful circular concert room which can hold up to 500 guests so this is a great venue if you are have a large wedding party and are looking for a huge celebration with all your friends and your family. If you are looking for a smaller, intimate venue there are also loads to choose from and even a small elopement on a beach somewhere in the surrounding areas of Liverpool is also a wonderful option.

The sunsets are wonderful at the beaches around Liverpool, Fornby beach is one of my favourites with its beautiful sand dunes and forests leading to the beach. If you are looking for a tiny intimate wedding ceremony then I know many wonderful places for you to have your celebration. Liverpool will always be up there with one of my favourite cities to photograph weddings in the North West. It is so vibrant and fun. I don’t think it would be possible to not have a good time when photographing an LGBTQ+ wedding in Liverpool.

One place that I would love to be able to photograph a wedding in Liverpool is the Palm House at Sefton Park. It is a lush, tropical paradise in the middle of the city which provides a stunning backdrop for a ceremony of up to 100 people. Please get in touch if you are a gay or lesbian couple looking for a wedding photographer in the wonderful city of Liverpool, I would love to be able to help you.
