I was approached recently by a personal training company who wanted some photos of one of their trainers to sit alongside a national campaign with other photo shoots. It’s always a bit tricky trying to match the lighting and style of someone else but if the photos all need to look like they were taken in one place then sometimes it is necessary. The client wanted the photos to look strong and also achieve definition in the body using lighting. They chose black and white for most of the images to achieve higher contrast and really make Mark’s body standout. I didn’t realise the preparation that went into photographing body builders with the muscles needing to be pumped up before the shoot and then really tensed during the photo session to achieve the desired effect.
