Golden Hour Daisy Jones inspired Photo Shoot
Recently I watched Daisy Jones and the Six on tv and I immediately
fell in love with the dreamy 70s styling, the clothes, the
lighting and the whole vibe. My creative juices started flowing
and it made me think I really wanted to do a photo shoot with a
musician with 70s styling. When my choir teacher (yes I go to
choir haha) said she needed some new head shots I jumped at the
chance to make my vision come to a reality.
I had the perfect photo shoot location in mind. A place called
Black Rocks near where I live in the Peak District. We picked a
warm summers evening and met around 7pm when the sun was starting
to go down. I decided to style the shoot myself to keep things
simple and used a gorgeous black dress from Brave Soul and a
seventies style kaftan I ordered from Shein. I wanted floaty
clothes that Jen could move in and would catch the sun and the
clothes we picked worked really well. We figured out Jen looked
great in hats so we had a couiple of 70s inspired hats to complete
the look.
I absolutely love taking photos of musicians. Firstly you have
instant music during the photo shoot and also their passion and
love of what they do really comes out in the photographs. Jen
brought her guitar with her to the shoot and we took a lot of
photos with her playing and holding the guitar to show her love
and passion for what she does. We started off shooting on the road
and then moved on to the long grass. I wanted to photograph Jen
through the grass to give that romantic dreamy feel to her
photographs. As a photographer it is so wonderful to have an idea
and then see it come to life. It was so easy to photograph Jen,
she has such a warm and wonderful personality and I wanted to make
sure that came across in the pictures. We laughed a lot during the
photo shoot and the end result was a set of photographs that
encompassed the feel of Daisy Jones which is exactly what I
wanted.
Please get in touch if you would like any head shots or would like
to organise a portfolio photo shoot that will be fun and give you
a great set of natural shots that will set you apart from everyone
else.
