It’s always great photographing corporate head shots where the company is forward thinking and wants their photos taken with interesting backgrounds rather than just a white wall or backdrop. When I was given the brief I was told the company wanted some natural head shots using Salford Quays as their backdrop. Luckily we picked a beautiful day where the sky was blue and the sun was shining. I chose a few different backdrops, some incorporating the great architecture, others the water aspect but all having something recognisable from the area in the photo. We took the team photographs first which I really enjoyed photographing. The team were all really comfortable around one another and had a great dynamic. I particularly liked the team photographs on the stairs. I used some off camera flash to light the team.
For the individual photographs I spent around 15 minutes with each team member. Walking around with them to a couple of locations to get the photograph we were looking for. Corporate headshots really don’t have to be boring as my day in Salford Quays proved.
