I recently had the pleasure of travelling to the beautiful countryside of Yorkshire to take photos of Burnley Oak Primary School. These photos were to be a snapshot in the day of a normal school day and were to include lots of lessons, fun and learning. I had such a great day watching all the primary children in their everyday environment and the school had such great facilities and a really fun attitude to learning that it was really easy to get some fantastic photographs of the kids enjoying themselves whilst getting an education at the same time. I did not want to be intrusive so I used very little flash – just a 24-70mm lens for the portrait style shots and my 70-200mm lens for the far away or detail shots of the kids. I wanted the photos to be reportage and natural so used more of a documentary style, although every now and then got a couple of posed shots with the kids when they fancied it.
