A creative test shoot is such a fantastic way to try out new photography ideas and techniques, collaborate with amazing people and generally have a really fun day. Earlier this week that is exactly what happened when a group of us got together to photograph some stunning images in a fantastic location, http://hopemilltheatre.co.uk/. The first step was to create some pinterest boards to get some ideas together. We wanted the photo shoot to be bridal but not the traditional bridal shoots you see in many magazines. We chose an amazing model, Beth as she has a fantastic fresh look and used stunning dresses from http://www.jeanjacksoncouture.com/ and incredible flowers from http://www.frogflowers.co.uk/. The finishing touch was creative props and lighting from http://www.thewordislove.co.uk/. Nancy Spencer http://www.makeupmanchester.co.uk/ created the simple yet beautiful hair and make up looks and I, directed and photographed the shoot. It was just one of those perfect days where everyone comes together with a great attitude and just wants to make beautiful photos. We wanted to use natural light where possible, although it was a typical Manchester day with flat, grey clouds and almost zero light. Where I had to add in light I used reflectors where possible as well as a continuous light to keep the lighting as soft and natural as possible. Here are a few behind the scenes shots. I am still editing the photos and can’t wait to be able to share them with everyone. Keep your eyes pealed for the full set :).
